About the designer…
Oliver Lacoon Williamson is a set and costume designer for live performance. He works primarily between Naarm (Melbourne) and Tarntanya (Adelaide).
Oliver graduated from the Victorian College of the Arts in 2021, with a dgeree in design and production. He was the grateful recipient of the Lionel Gell Foundation Scholarship.
Since graduation, Oliver has designed for a number of productions including: Private View (Restless Dance Theatre), The Deep North (South Australia Playwright’s Theatre), Trash Pop Butterflies ( Burke/Morita, Midsummer Festival), Attempts on her Life (Split Focus) and S/WORDS (Lewis Major Productions, Adelaide Festival).
He has also completed attachments on television projects such as Love Me (Warner Brothers) and More Than This (Baby Banksia Productions).
Oliver has also collaborated on fashion projects with Injalak Arts, focusing on the translation of Kunwinjku textiles and painting into wearables.
In 2022, Oliver represented the VCA at the World Stage Design Conference, held in-person in Calgary and online.
